How to get more from our improved Tube station ticket machines

Touchscreen ticket machines are available at Tube stations
across the capital. As well as issuing new Oyster cards, you can top up pay as you go credit
on your Oyster card and buy Travelcards, bus and tram
passes and paper tickets. Want to make a journey
on National Rail? If you have a Travelcard
on your Oyster card, you can buy an extension ticket
from the boundary of your travel zone to many destinations outside London. Perhaps you have
a National Railcard. You can get
the National Railcard discount set on your Oyster card
at a ticket machine to get a 34% discount
on off-peak pay as you go fares, daily caps and Day Travelcards. If you’re travelling
in a small group, you can buy up to five Oyster cards
and multiple paper tickets in a single transaction. The machines are easy to use,
but if you need help, you can speak to a member of staff
in the ticket hall. Some stations also have
a Travel Information Centre. Ticket machines are also a great way to keep track
of your Oyster card journey history. Simply touch your Oyster card
on the reader and select
“Journey History” onscreen to view your last eight trips. You can also do this and more
with an Oyster online account. If you no longer need
your Oyster card, you can get a refund of up to £10 pay as you go credit
plus your deposit at a Tube station ticket machine. Just touch your Oyster card on the
reader and select “Oyster refund”. For refunds over this amount,
please call TfL Customer Services on: For more information,
